Specialists in water and waste water management
Environmental Detection Surveys Ltd (EDS) was founded in 1981 to conduct asset surveys and mapping on behalf of water authorities in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Since then, the water industry has changed beyond all recognition and EDS has developed with it to provide a range of services in waste water to both water companies and private clients across a range of industries.
Since then, we’ve developed our knowledge and expertise and become a trusted partner to water companies around the country. Our longest standing partnership has been with Amey and Severn Trent Water where we have dedicated ourselves to working to a higher standard than any other partner.
Our philosophy is based on never resting but constantly looking for ways to improve our performance. We understand that you’re only as good as your last piece of work. That’s why we do everything in our power to ensure that each and every job we complete is to the highest standard: from initial exploration and work by our on-site teams to making sure our back office is inputting information with precision and clarity.
We’ve spent years investing in our teams and equipment to ensure each and every team we send out are highly trained and capable of a wide variety of works. We believe in having better trained, highly professional people rather than just more of the same.
The benefits of a CCTV drainage survey are spectacular in defining an accurate report with real time footage of your drainage system.
Trenchless drain relining methods such as (CIPP), a cured-in-place-pipe. Is created by an epoxy layered liner which does not involve digging a trench. Benefits? Less noise, cleaner and overall, more convenient.

An Example of How a Drainage System Can Fail
The moss, leaves and general dirt build-up like we see in the guttering will be channelled down into the gullies. If not cleaned properly and checked regularly, it will back up surface water and create pooling and flooding.
Again, damp saturation, mould, cracks, slip hazards and ground movement or erosion can all occur. This can also lead to pipe collapse symptoms, with sustained heavy rainfall, extreme cold and heat all expanding contraction effects.
When an emergency arises with our drainage, be it a blocked toilet or an over flowing drain on our property. High pressure water jetting will be the tool to unblock it!
The benefits for using high pressure water
jetting is valuable in maintaining the integrity and continuity of your drainage pipes, and to keep them flowing.
